Convention Program

Six days of Hungarian culture, tradition, and community. From folk dance seminars and cultural presentations to operetta performances and the New Year’s Eve Ball, there’s something for everyone at the 18th Australian-Hungarian Cultural Convention.”

All events take place at the Hungarian Community Centre, 760 Boronia Road, Wantirna, unless otherwise noted.

DAY 1 – Sunday, December 28th

Opening Day

DAY 2 – Monday, December 29th

11:00 AM – Presentation: “Nutrition for the Ages” (English) by Prof. Ibolya Nyulasi

12:00 PM – Presentation: Conversation: The future of Hungarians living in the diaspora – Dr Endre Domaniczky, Workshop: “Threads of Tradition, Discovering Hungarian Embroidery” (ages 16 and above) – $10 entry (Eng) with Eva Steverlynck

2:00 PM – Roundtable discussion with the Hungarian Ambassador, Zsolt Csenger-Zalán

DAY 3 – Tuesday, December 30th

Arts & Culture Day

New Year’s Eve
