Hiring A Space

Halls, kitchen & grounds

Can I hire the Centre for a wedding or private event?+

Yes. The Main Hall, Youth Hall, Social Club and grounds are all available for weddings, birthdays and private functions of all sizes. Have a look at our Hire a Space page and send us an enquiry.

How many guests can each space hold?+

The Main Hall seats around 500, the Youth Hall around 300, the Social Club around 100 and the Church around 150. The grounds can host much larger outdoor events.

How do I check if my date is free?+

Send us a booking request with your preferred date, or call Andrea on 0400 245 967. We'll let you know what's available and send you a quote.

How much does it cost to hire a space?+

It depends on the space, the day and how long you need it. Let us know what you're planning and we'll send you a quote.

Can I hire the kitchen without hiring a hall?+

Yes, the commercial kitchen can be hired separately by the hour or day, which suits small caterers and home businesses scaling up production.

Is there parking?+

Yes, there's plenty of free parking on site, right next to the halls.

Does my group need to be Hungarian to hire a space?+

Not at all. Groups and families from every background hire the Centre, from dance classes and clubs to cultural associations and businesses.

Can my group book a regular weekly time?+

Yes, several groups already meet here every week. Get in touch and we'll talk through which days and spaces might suit.

Getting Involved

Community & culture

Where can my kids learn Hungarian dancing or the language?+

Hungarian School runs every Saturday morning during term, covering language and culture. Folk dancing groups also meet at the Centre. Get in touch and we'll point you to the right group for your child's age.

My father or grandmother was Hungarian, can I still get involved?+

Absolutely, that's exactly who this place is for. Plenty of our members are second, third or fourth generation, and you don't need to speak the language to belong here.

I don't speak Hungarian. Will I feel out of place?+

Not at all. Most events are run in English, or a friendly mix of both, and everyone is welcome to come along.

How do I find out about upcoming events?+

Check our What's On page, or follow the Centre on Facebook for the latest news.
